Aloha kakou,
It's
hard to believe that a year has past since I began my term as
President. Thanks to all of you, it has been an amazing ride!
The
final quarter of the year began with an entertaining educational
luncheon with Music Motivational speaker Neil Pflum, held at the Hilton
Waikiki Prince Kuhio. Please click here for the recap and photos.
The
Hawai'i Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HHSMA) held a
luncheon in April at Ruth's Chris in Waikiki to honor the Aloha
Airlines sales & marketing executives. The MPI Aloha Chapter
showed their appreciation for the tremendous support given by Aloha
Airlines over the years with gift cards from Ala Moana Center for each
of the former Aloha Airlines sales executives.
We joined the world of E-bay earlier this quarter and to date we have
raised over $1,000. Mahalo to Cherryl Cunanan, MPI Aloha Chapter
Director, Fundraising who worked diligently to get this project up and
running and a special mahalo to our members for their generous
donations. The success of all of our fundraising efforts this past
year will allow us to present a check to Lokahi at our upcoming
educational luncheon on June 17 to benefit the four major islands,
making this a great statewide effort. | Edie Hafdahl, CMP, CTC, MPI Aloha Chapter President, Gail Glushenko, Aloha Airlines, Kainoa Daines, HHSMA President

I am delighted to see our membership roster growing close to the 100 mark and pleased to welcome our new members. Click here to meet the new members.
Speaking of new members and membership in general, I was pleased to see that over a third of our membership completed the member satisfaction survey conducted earlier this quarter. I am even more pleased with the results. The overall satisfaction rate of our MPI Aloha Chapter was in the upper 3%, both regionally, (48 chapters in the United States) and globally, (68 chapters). We will continue moving forward next year by increasing member involvement, enhancing chapter communications, and creating more business opportunities for our members.
We are ending the year
in grand style with our highly successful first annual awards gala
under our belt. Mahalo nui loa to the Awards Gala Committee who worked tirelessly to provide a
first class event. It was a proud night for the MPI Aloha Chapter.
The human connections were strong and the member conversation and
experience was elevated to an all new high. Congratulations to Cherryl
Cunanan, Planner of the Year, Don Chock, CMP, Supplier of the Year,
Merrissa Uchimura, Rising Star, Lisa Mock, recipient of the President's
Award and of course to our founding president, Cheryl Williams.

have been honored and privileged to have served as your MPI Aloha
Chapter president and so proud to have lead the organization during
these exciting times with MPI's shift in direction - to Build a Rich
Global Meeting Industry Community. I would like to take this

As
I bid a fond aloha, I am delighted to be passing the gavel on to your
