MPI September Event was a HUGE Success!

If you missed the September 15th event at The HIlton Waikiki Prince Kuhio on Social Media you truly missed an amazing learning opportunity and a great networking event! The event was well attended with nearly seventy guests from the meetings, hospitality, travel and other industries.
 
From the out-set the Eduaciton and Program chair, Joy Tomita and her committee wanted to make the event a training for those "who may not be as savvy in the ways of social media than others" - the result was HUGE!   Many of the attendees had not ever had a Facebook or Twitter acccount or worked in any other form of social media before the meeting - they left with a far better understanding of this big new wold, many "tweeting" for the first time, opening "Fan" pages and meeting new and old friends.
 
While we all enjoyed a fantastic lunch Roxanne Darling opened the program with an overall view of how to better manage your social media efforts for prime results and efficiency. Her wisdom, skill, humor and ability to truly connect with the the attendees made it easy to follow as she imparted some very important information and processes to each of us on how to better use the technology available to us.
 
Tess Staadecker followed the lunch with a groundbreaking session in which she extolled the virtues of Facebook and all it can do to help drive business to its users, with training on building Fan Pages & setting up the most urrent home pages with all the bells and whistles!
 
While Tess taught on Facebook Roxanne was busy reviewing how, when where and why to Blog and all it can do to drive traffic to our individual businesses and build a presence for our business on the internet.
