 As we
begin the 2007-2008 year, I am honored and privileged to be serving as
your President. I am extremely fortunate to be leading a team of
dedicated and enthusiastic individuals, each one committed to serving
you - our members.This is an exciting year for MPI as it takes on a new direction with a new vision - Build a Rich Global Meeting Industry Community. The vision for our Aloha Chapter is in alignment with the new vision of MPI Headquarters - Build a Strong Aloha Chapter. We will do this through increased visibility and recognition of our various activities throughout the year. The year has just begun and the various committees are already hard at work. On July 2nd, we issued a press release to the local media as well as the national meeting trade publications announcing the 2007-2008 Board of Directors. Enhancements have been made to the website. The community outreach committee met in July to determine the various fundraising activities and the recipients of these efforts. Other committees have begun their work as well. The MPI Aloha Chapter has been in existence for 10 years and we will be recognizing this milestone with our first ever awards banquet. Various awards will be given to recognize and honor our 5, 10, 15, & 20-year members, Planner of the Year, Supplier of the Year, and Rising Star. We will also be focusing on submitting our application for the Chapter of the Year (COTY) award. Our various activities in the areas of Education, Membership, Communications, Administration, and Special Projects will all contribute to this effort.
